When talking about large vehicles, the first thing that often comes to mind is width. These wide-bodied vehicles offer space and comfort on the road with the ability to transport more passengers or cargo. Many pick-up trucks and some SUVs can be easily identified as a "lengthy" mode of transportation.
While large, wide vehicles typically have long bodies, some go beyond the standard dimensions. In this article, we take a look at the longest vehicles on the road today and how they compare to other vehicles in the same category. These are sure head turners wherever they go because of their sheer length.
Pick-up Trucks - The King of the Road
When it comes to general production vehicles, nothing beats the pick-up truck as the king of the road. Aside from its hulking size that can easily transport heavier loads, it is also known for its length to allow transportation of items of various sizes.
The longest pick-up truck is the GMC Sierra 3500 HD Crew Cab. Measured at 266.77 inches in length, GMC's longest pick-up truck is built for the whole family with its massive space and additional length to haul large items. The Crew Cab feature also increases its cabin length to provide additional storage inside.
GMC is not the only car manufacturer that boasts of long pick-up trucks. The Ford F-350 Super Duty is measured at 266.20 inches, Chevrolet Silverado HD Crew Cab is 266.8 inches long, and RAM HD Crew Cab is also relatively long compared to other pick-up trucks with 260.80 inches in length while the Toyota Tundra CrewMax can also compete with the big guys with 252.50 inches in length.
Aside from the Toyota Tundra CrewMax, the pick-up trucks in this list are heavy duty vehicles built for daily heavy lifting.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended is currently the longest sedan in the world with 235.80 inches in length. Produced in 2024, this beautiful vehicle is well known for its extended wheelbase. Bright Future for Longer Vehicles
The demand for trucks and SUVs that offer space and comfort continues to rise and car manufacturers are more than happy to cater to these demands. Automakers are constantly pushing the boundaries of what these vehicles can offer in order to attract more buyers. Advancements in electric vehicle (EV) technology has also helped because vehicle design can be optimized for more space and additional features.
It is worthy of note as well that most of the vehicles in this list were introduced in 2024, underscoring how car manufacturers are constantly working on building longer and more vehicles.
